This gun is in good working order although it's seldom used. It will chamber 2-3/4 but is much safer with 2-1/2, skeet load - hard to find. Has one screw missing from the horn butt and a couple of minor wood dings but otherwise is in pretty good shape. Anyone got an idea what it might be worth. Some pics here; www.lacdeschats.org/darne.htm

Epp's has had an older Darne for sale for a few years, it is a 16gauge 2 1/2", it was priced at 1900$ and is now down to $900 and I don't think it has sold. Nice guns, and I would like one, but not for the price some are charging.

Thanks for the input. I think I saw that gun on a U.S. board. It sold for around $950 but was originally listed at double that. What difference would a 12 ga account for? This particular Darne's barrel is stamped with the following:
Fusil HALIFAX #3
St Etienne 18.9
Licence Darne
65
B (in a double circle)
PT (with crown over and crossed arrows under)
Garanti pour toutes poudres pyroxylees
serial number

Some pics of my fusil Darne. The local hunters around here say it's a ladies gun. I say it has curves like a lady.
