Good day . Just picked up a 22 Hornet , anyone have any " Pet Loads " available ? Its a Savage Model 40 . Need info for which powder , bullet make and weight .

Lots of data and pet loads on here if you do a search. My Anschutz 1433 likes 12 grains of Lil'Gun, 40 grain sierras (.224), and Remington #6 small rifle primers. Case prep is an exercise in patience. Love shooting that little thing!

I use heavy bullets seated really deep to fit in my magazine. 55 gr soft point over 10 grains of win 296

My ZKW 465 likes pretty much anything (in the 35gr-40gr) over 12.5gr of Lil-gun...

My Savage hornet takes 40gn bullets and 11.2gn of IMR4227

IMR4227 is an old powder and generally available.

I just scoop the case full of lil gun and seat a 40 gr Vmax over it. Seems to work just fine.

You must work up the load for your rifle. No two, even two identical rifles with consecutive serial numbers, will shoot the same ammo the same way. Start with the powder given for the accuracy load in your manual.

Thanks for that info . I have some of that powder here . I'll try that as soon as I get some cases .
