185,000$ to develop and make 20 rifles, no wonder the Military dropped the Peredson rifles.

Cost Garand 172,000$ for 80 rifles. :)

Dimitri,
I have a little story about Garand and Peredson. Many years ago while doing my research at SA some of the old hands that worked there during the WW 2 and Korea wars. would walk up to people who came in and ask if they would like a tour. No cost just something these guys wanted to do. By that time I knew my way around an M1 but I thank him and off we went. One of his stories was that at every noon time, lunch, Garand would leave his room and get something to eat. Meantime Peredson would walk into Mr Garand room and look over what Mr Garand was working on. This is just a story NO ORDNANCE FILES. I was told a ton of these stories by the guys who work there. Remember that back then the mid-70's SA was just empty they got almost no one come in to see the HISTORY of the place.
I have many other stories of this type.
Thanks again Sir.
