Date and Time for IPSC Nationals in 2011

Well I guess that seals me out of getting to the match (work won't let me know if I can have the time off until the 23rd)

I believe that slots have been set aside for the Provincial Teams. So...if your on the BC Prod team...by default there would be a slot set aside for you.

Perhaps someone from the Match Committee can verify?

Not on the BC team, I haven't shot our Provincials in years (thanks again work).
No point in going on the wait list only to find out work won't give me the time off in 2 weeks.
I should be clear I'm not upset at the match being sold out, I think that's great, I'm just annoyed at having work screw me over on holidays. I really need a different job.

I'm shocked I don't have a hundred applications for these positions considering all the incentives that are included. (Hotel for 6 nights, match fee, staff appreciation dinner with transportation... just to name a few.)

You all must have won the lottery and forgot to share with me.:kickInTheNuts:

When might we be finding out if we're working the match or not?

The boss man (er woman) would have to confirm that one. I think there are slots held for provincial teams but I think the boss is getting tired of holding team slots for provinces that are not replying to her requests for final list of team member names. I imagine she will be cutting those slots loose soon... if she hasn't already.

Late fee is being applied now, I know that for sure.

Also, don't quote me, but... I believe boss will refund in full for requests received by July 1st. No refunds after July 1st.

When might we be finding out if we're working the match or not?

Dedicated Nationals Staff will be announced today via email... If I stop surfing and get some work done...

Update from the match web site:

2011 Nationals Match is full, all registrations received after June 1st will go on the waiting list. You will be notified if you are on the wait list and again notified if a spot becomes available.

There is open spots. Some cancellations and one of the provinces gave up 8 spots.

so it ottawa really a better choice to fly into? I can fly direct from Vancouver (iccck) for less than flying into Toronto (iccck). non stop (which is nice).

It's a shorter drive to Kingston.
I've flown through there with a lot of guns, including "evil black rifles"; never had any problems.
Flying in through there next week to the ON provincials.

Also much less traffic to deal with Rob. Depending on the time of day...you may hit a bit on your way out of the city (around 9 and again at 5 with commuters)...but it's pretty clear going once you hit the highway...

sooooooo, next question, anyone in that neck of the woods looking for someone who'll pay for gas for a ride down to the match on the afternoon of the 27th?
