Date of Manufacturing for Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight

Ok, here is one for all of you firearm experts!

I recently acquired an Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight (12ga 2.75", 30" barrell, full choke) shottie. I'm not sure how old it is but I believe it has been in storage for over 25 years (maybe even closer to 35!).

The serial # is 475###-4. Can anyone help me find out when this gun was manufactured? I tried searching the internet but no luck. If you need the full serial #, send me a PM.

Mine is 722###-4. Before Ithaca closed up they had the manufacture dates on their site. Mine was built in 1958-59. The barrel style was changed on them around 850,000. Barrels from before that wont exchange with barrels after that. I found that out when I was looking for a shorter vent rib barrel for mine.

Thanks for the information! I have found other information that tells me it was made prior to 1954, so it's just a matter or waithing to see if the new Ithaca company responds to my inquiry.
