Dating a Browning Rifle?

Is there a source anyone knows of to determine the date of production of a Browning High Power Safari rifle? I've tried searching the net without success. The Browning website doesn't list these rifles either. What I did find out is that they began production in 1959 and then switched to a 2L###x serial number in 1962. So mine being L5### is somewhere in between those dates (if this info is correct). Also was there ever a 1L series or did it just jump to 2L?

Thanks but I'd found that site and unless I'm missing something it doesn't give any specifics. Is there a Browning history reference book with serial numbers and dates of manufacture out there?
