Dating a Remington P-14 (No.3 Mk.1)

Can anyone tell me, or direct me to where I might research, the manufacture date of a Remington P-14 serial number 421994?

IIRC, they were made only from 1914 to 1916? I can't be more precise than that (I'm sure someone else will!)

The side of the barrel where it meets the receiver will have the year made.....that's as good as it gets.

Remington was early 1915 to mid-1917. If your rifle is a Remington and not a Eddystone Remington, I am thinking it is 1917, by the serial number. (Remington at Ilion made about 400,000, and the serial no's started, I think, at 100000).
