That's the best feeling in the world to be with someone when they take there first animal.
I have 2 beautiful girls now 24 and 21,i started then shooting when they were very young,pellit gun,22, 223,3030,250 savage,now 7mm08 and 308.
Both of my little girls shot a buck for there first ever big game.
Amanda 13 nice 8 point at 50 yards out of double wide stand,I was more excited then she was.
Kellie 12 shot a real big 3 pointer out of same stand and location,30 seconds after she shot a big doe steps out and I tell her to shoot but she looks at me and says to go for it I already shot one.I was never more proud of my girls,I had both of there bucks mounted for them to remember the special day.
They both continue to hunt and have taken 6 deer between them,
One proud dad.
Hunt hard and shoot straight.

Thanks guys. I really am not sure who is more proud. Her or me. Every time meat comes out of the freezer she is determined to know whos deer it is. She is convinced hers tastes better than mine. LOL.

What, no "thanks Uncle Pudelpointer for picking out that rifle for her"? Geez. :)

When you gonna bring one of those kids of yours east for an Alberta whitetail hunt?

Yup.....she loves the rifle. That youth model fits her well. Funny you should comment.....she really wants to go on a trip now and mentioned uncle Ians. She wants a big alberta deer or an elk. hahahahaha

I was never given this opportunity as a kid, tbh I was taught to just stay away from guns and hunting. Look how THAT turned out :p

I hope to be able to do this with my kids someday, a great way to be brought up.

I love everything you are doing, up until the "trophy photo" moment.

Teaching your daughter to disconnect from the matrix: Awesome.

Teaching her to take up a useful skill like shooting: Awesome.

Teaching her to kill an animal as a food source: Awesome.

Teaching her to do the trophy "I killed this animal" photo: Fail.

Respect the activity, respect the hunt, respect the purpose, respect the animal, respect the modern reality.

Other than that small detail, I think you are miles ahead of the average Dad, today.

Congrats to both . Great kid , great Pop , all is well . Gotta love that million dollar smile .

Way to go Morgan!!!!! I watched the last 5 minutes of that video and I was smiling ear to ear! What a great effort, both dad and Morgan should be very proud of themselves. I've never seen that kind of smile on a kid playing a video game!

Great going, she sure looked happy...nice shot I hope my son gets a chance at his first soon too... Congrats to you and your daughter.. WTG

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Petamocto...while I respect your opinion I do not agree how the photo was a fail. There was no disrespect shown to the animal to have a photo taken. The photo was clean.....no blood and guts or gore. We wanted a photo to put up for memories.

I have taken a picture of almost every animal I have ever shot. Its not a bragging "I killed this animal" photo.....its so I can look back and think off all the memories of that particular hunt and who I was with and relive those fond memories at a later date.

Cheers

Yeah, geez DW, why would you want a photo of your daughter and her first deer? In fact the whole video is offensive... hunting and harvesting animals for food is something we should all be ashamed of and kept in the shadows.

Then again, maybe some people's opinions should be kept in the shadows....

Finally took the time to sit down and watch the video. Very cool. My favorite part is where you are holding her hand while walking through the slash... brought a tear to my eye. Kind of reminded me of when I took you out for your first deer... Lol.

And why is M wearing your wife's hat?

Seriously though; thanks for posting so we can share in what I know was a great day for both of you. Since I couldn't be there, this was about the next best thing.... hey, maybe THAT'S WHY you took the photos?
