VERY NICE.
What's the OAL on that pinky?
The OAL is the stock dimension, since the brake does not count for length as a "non-permanent" attachment... so it has a 26 3/4" OAL.
VERY NICE.
What's the OAL on that pinky?
Hello Guys n' Gals!
I have been working on my daughter's pinky build for sometime... The idea was to build something to capture her imagination and inspire her to join her big brother and I to the range and on small game field trips... to that end, I wanted a light and compact rifle that keeps the weight centered between her hands and that she can maneuver easily. I built this off of a 10/22 receiver and went from there... parts and process below;
- Ruger 10/22 receiver
- Ruger bolt, sent to RFC's "QUE" for his work up and matt finish
- Ruger alloy Trigger Group sent to Brimstone for David's Tier 2 job and RT Pink trigger and VQ internals
- Boyd's Blackjack SS Evolution stock (Black/Pink)
- Dlask 8" .920 bull contour barrel
- RT tactical charging handle
- Tac Sol muzzle brake
- Dura Sight Z2 scope base and picatinny rail
- Low (too low) rings, trigger, charging handle and muzzle brake all sent to Dale (RFC's daletr) for his anodizing magic... thanks buddy!
- scope pictured is an Alpen Kodiak 2.5-10X44mm, which was only put on because the rings were too low to mount the Hawke Varmint SF 4-16X44mm that I bought for this gun... that will be corrected shortly! Here is the Pinky as she stands;

In your build details you mention sending the trigger group to "Brimstone", looking them up, they're located in the US.
How complicated is it for canadians to send gun parts to the US for upgrade work, etc.
Does she find the distance from the grip to the trigger a bit long?
There is NO problem sending your group to David at Brimstone... he has done a number of groups for me and I have recommended him to a number of CGNer's who have had good experiences with him. David does a great job on 10/22 groups... they are easily the equal of my Rimfire Tech and VQ groups. I also worked out a Canadian special with David... he will do his Tier 1 job for $99 to keep it below the $100 max for exporting back to Canada... it is a great deal.
Nice gun neighbour.
Hope to see her at the range shooting it soon.
I'm not a big fan of 8" barrel... Prefer 16" ..I love the stock. Got one on my 597. How did you get it? Otherwise awesome build. Best part of all: she likes it.
Congratulations.
That is cool! Probally one of the nicest ive seen well thought out and even better executed
My daughter is only 12, but she is 5' 4" and taller than her mom already... she has no problem with the grip to trigger distance.
