So I've been trying to figure out this whole hand loading stuff, did up a few different seated depths with different powder loads and headed to the range, i shot 10 groups of 5 shots, these were my best two

I pulled that one, got excited, the rest were 1moa-.75moa except for my first two groups, Now they were all over the place, does a barrel not shoot as good when it is cold? Because it seemed the more shots i put down range the tighter the groups were becoming. Anyways I'm pretty pumped I got shooter right out of the box(besides the bedding job) with a bit more practice this should be a consistent sub .5moa rifle, because I'm no great shot. I still don't even know what my shooting technique is going to be. Going to be a fun summer.

im no guru like some of these guys but to the best of my knowledge a barrel needs a few rounds through it to settle in, and different powder charges can effect it a tone too.

real nice groups, also what range were you at?

i find mine takes a few shots to shoot accuractly, gotta fowl the barrel first a little to get it accurate.

"cold bore " shots tend to be a bit wild compared to warm barrel shots. A cold bore or a barrel to hot can effect accuracy. Also in alot of cases a completely clean barrel shoots less accurat then a barrel with a few fouling rounds fired.

It seems like with those 2 loads your on the right track. I'd continue to work with them , trying different amounts of jump off the lands

The groups look good for sure. Stick with that load and try it again. One good group is a fluke but multiple good groups with the same load means you are there. This is obviously a .308 caliber.

Some barrels do indeed shoot better when fouled. Factory barrels especially. "Cold Bore" variation depends on the barrel too. I don't have any cold bore issues with any of my rifles with cut rifled barrels.

ok if i go to the same forum , and try to post some pics bout my day at the range , it says at the bottom (YOU MAY NOT POST ATTACHMENTS),, well how du i post my pics then
