Day two, still no luck.

Actually tried it on some whitetails tonight and while they lifted their head to look in my direction at first, they contently went back to eating even though I was only 150 yards away. They really didn't seem that interested or concerned.

What the elk call or the rabbit call? Tried it a lot with rabbit distress and fawn distress on whitetails and mulies. Mulies come about 50% of the time. Whitetails go the other way about 90% of the time.

Quaker Boy Herd Master elk call...never use a predator call. Just make it sound like a fawn in distress.

I hate to bum you out Pharaoh, but a, me and the boys went out and shot all eight of our antlerless mule deer tags. And we only hunted yesterday. We hiked like a bugger, but, no big deal:D
MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm..............Sausage and Backstraps.....MMmmmmmm

Just to follow up on the deer distress calling, I tried it on the way out of my stand this morning.
Hit some good bedding spots on the way out, and took my time.
Tried the nasty, but delicious sound of the new fawn distress call, but nothing happened.:(

Not a big deal though, we tagged out today with four bucks and a doe.:)

Manitoba tomorrow morning, Yee Haw....:D

Why stop with doe's only? I used to love shooting smokepoles until one day I f-ed up. I cleaned mine between every shot at the range. One time I left a bit too much solution at the bottom of the barrel and it fouled the powder near the flash hole at the nipple. I had a misfire and my heart stopped. I tried putting more powder under the nipple and all the little tricks, but it was stuck. It took two guys on the ramrod with vice grips to hold it while I pulled it out on the rifle.

I wen't to in-lines, but it was never the same. Now I see Traditions has a Flinter out with a removable breach plug that I'm interested in. With good loads, your black powder rifle can give you excellent accuracy, and offer a fun challenge. I always dreamed of taking one up North for caribou.
