The Grand Aggregate numbers for the Open class are incorrect. They don't include Match 66 (which is only supposed to be case for DM). I'll let them know...

What does the course of fire entail for the "Sniper " match. Just looking at the results page its referred as precision rifle. Is is target shooting at known distances or from various postions at unknown distances like someone deployed in the role as a sniper would normally encounter? Thanks.

It isn't just deliberate shooting like F-class or TR. More than half the stages are movers or timed exposures. The target pops up at random locations (within a given arc of fire) and you have 3-5 seconds to track to it and break the shot, 8 seconds to do it for 2 shots in the 200m rapid follow up. There is also now Match 68 which is the cumulative scoring of all of the slighter shots for the other matches that include them.
Unknown distances are fun to do, but offering a formal match consisting of them is extremely difficult due to the range regulations we have in many provinces.
The DM Agg. was certainly interesting. Some shooters continued back to 800m experimentally. Great opportunity to shoot outside the envelope with C7/C79/C77. Let's hope the DM Agg. is continued.
It is a treat to watch Will and Kevin in action.
Excellent experimentation! That's what I like to see. Guys shooting a C7 to 800m is just what we need. The Chou's are excellent shots and great guys to boot. Wish I could have made it.

I understand that Will and Kevin were shooting .284s. Several of the top shots were using 6.5x.284. .260 is up and coming. .308 seems to be fading. Some were using single shot rifles. Requires slick reloads for 200, 500 and falling plates. Kevin and Will take turns, one shooting, the other feeding rounds into the port. Very fast. I suspect that they practice.
Wind was less challenging than last year, but an Elcan and a washer aren't the best way to deal with changes at the longer ranges. Winning scores with C7s were about 2/3 of those obtained with the custom precision rifles. A few keyholes were observed at 700m; I supect that these were from well used rifles. A WO from the Cdn. Scottish reported a nice round, centered group at 800m. Don't know if this was during the walk back or the matches.
For next year, we were discussing slightly different targetry for the 300m Agony Snap. A Fig. 14 superimposed on a Fig. 12. Open shooters would score V,5,4 on the 14, same for DM, but they would also score 3 for a hit on the balance of the 12.
In addition, the DM Agg will be limited to 600m.
I agree that it is important that CF shooters have the opportunity to use their rifles at extended ranges. Effective results are possible.
I expect that we will be getting feedback from those who competed in the DM Agg. Certainly looking foreward to it.

1st place team: 284 Win. (both)
2nd place team: 6.5-284 (both)
3rd place team: 260 AI (both? Poaps for sure)
4th place team: 6.5x284 and 308win
5th place team: 308 Win. (both)
6th place team: 260 Rem and 6.5 x 284
I think 7th,8th & 9th were all 308s. There were a lot of other 308s as well, some other 6.5s, and a couple 300 WM... I think the US Navy guys were shooting a .223 AR on some of the short range stuff.

I was shooting open as I had to use my own Remington. There were only 2 C3A1s on the line and I beat both the teams using them soundly.

Poaps and Coltas were 3rd, probably using 6.5 variants. 4th place used 6.5x284 and 308win.
Good stuff. I would hope that the DM guys would be able to shoot their guns back to 800m if desired. Im sure its probably not much extra work since the bolt guns are going there anyways. It's good for troops to see what is possible with that system.
