Congratulations to Mr. John Kajfes of Pickering, Ontario for a fine showing in the first DCRA F Class Match in Ottawa this past week. John was the top Canadian shooter in the match.

John place 3rd overall against some of the best F Class shooters from GB, Ireland, Germany and the USA. Great shooting John.

Then we need to get him and others (Bob) to let us know what they did for the competition..

Seems we have a few people on this board that can shoot... This was pulled off of Broughton barrel website.

2006 Lt. Governors Final F-Class Champion - Bob Pastor of Michigan Bringing back to the States 12 Ontario Provincial Championships, Bob was the 1st F Class Champion to be "Chaired" by his fellow competitors. When you get Bob behind the trigger of "Viper" barreled with a Broughton 264 cal. 8 twist 5C barrel, WATCH OUT as the Viper will strike. Great Shooting Bob. That is quite an Honor

Excuse me?
My wife, Vanessa Warner won the F open gov. Generals final this year.

www.dcra.ca has all the results posted.

I coached the USA F open team to a clean score in the America's Match.

Alan- Bob"s Victory was in the Ontario Rifle Association's provincial match not to be confused with your wifes excellent and deservidly praised victory in the DCRA National MatchesBoth deserve praise for thier challenging victories.
As well your success in the America's Cup under NASTY conditions that Sunday was increadible and only those present to see can fully appreciate just how great your results were.
John K's well earned praise for finishing 3rd overall in the First F Class Open deserves as much recognition. Some of theTop shooters from around the world shooting a 3 day 9 match 900 meter(990 yard) distant target with a smaller target than normal (5.25 inch V bull) under some challenging Connaught Range conditions is no small feat either....
It was great to meet you all
Best

John, congratulations to you on your accomplishment at Connaught. I know it was very difficult on Wednesday, but you came through in fine form. Looking forward to shooting against you next year.

Thank you all kindly for the compliments...
for those who are unfamiliar with these matches Larry Bartholome won first place and Jim Murphy took second place. Both gentleman are extremely gifted shooters and it was an honor and pleasure to shoot with and against them and I actually was able to have a bunch of conversations with them.

I'm looking forward to the next time...

It's ok, don't worry about excusing yourself. It was two different matches. Just a simple misunderstanding. I couldn't attend the DCRA this year. I had to come home and put my best friend of 15 years to sleep. She was more important at the time.

I posted congratulations to Vannessa on Long Range Shooting forum.

With Best Regards,
Bob Pastor

Sorry to hear about your girl. Laid my last one down 12 years ago. Sad stuff.

I'll try to improve my reading skills a notch.

Of all the shooting trips we take, the times at Connaught are some of the most enjoyable.

The recent FCT is only the second encounter with half size scoring rings for me. It was interesting to hear the feedback and approach people used. I think more than a few where ill prepared to deal with them from a mental game perspective.

Back to work. I need to get the 7 ready for Sacramento.

Alan

Details can be found on the DCRA web page. As far as mens and ladies go Fullbore rifle shooting including F class, really doesn't have seperate classes for male and female, with the exception of a few Aggs. So if you don't mind getting your butt kicked by a little girl, this is a sport for you.

who's calling Lora "little" Tom... I think I might get some side bets going with her... she and I could split the pot 50/50...

spot some guys maybe ten... no make that twenty points and then have her walk by or better still go one on one with them shooting...

I doubt they'd have their minds where it should be as in on the target face!... real easy pickin's here Tom... cook'em and fry 'em!

Don't mind that at all, my daughter started kicking mine about two years ago, don't think my old eyes are going to beat her any more.:runaway:

Heh, Auto Q, how about an equipment list? Ha!

equipment list... gheeze I dunno Ian...

6.5 x.284
Broughton Barrel 30" 1:8
jewell trigger (that's safe to shoot, honest!)
Remington 700 short action (love 'em)
some kind of bulbous nose on the barrel... I think they call them tunners
and naturally of course the SY&G f-class stock you're making... love 'em so much I got two...

Joe Kroetsch chambered the barrels for this project. I use a 50x or bumped Leup and before someone jumps in and says it's no good in mirage I'll agree with them right now... Please, oh please don't ever consider using them!

Though I gotta tell ya... I'm looking real close at those NightForces... in particular the BR type... what I don't like is the 6 minutes of elevation per turn... folks can tell you plenty about my efforts last year and the year before at connaught just trying to get on... took me 7 shots just to get on the boards... with a scope that had 7.5 turns a Tasco (may it rest in piece(s)) ... ya it should have been simple to figure out but it's complicated, I'm complicated and with ground hogs running up my backside it got more complicated...
what's nice is the 1/8 clicks for those 5.25" v-bulls... ah probably just a bunch of juju!

The load... well let's say it was template proof or safe or whatever they want to call it... I was eating fudge loading that bunch so who know what went in them...

142 SMKs... would've used the 139 Lapuas but sorta ran out... then again our southern friends are doing just fine with Bergers... then again they'd do just fine with anything that came out the front end of their rifles!

what they really got going for them is, they're all very good mireage/wind readers...

I got lucky, real lucky!
