DD MK18... Happy i took advices...

Got mine yesterday, have to say I was surprised how much 1.2" less barrel makes it feel so much shorter than my 11.5". Damn Its a nice little gun tho.
Managed to get KAC BUIS in the deal and I'm setting it up with my H1 in the DD mount for now... a BCM MOD 0 comp and a MOD A44 ch, MOE K2 and XTM handstop, BFG vickers sling and RMFL and call it done. definitely a soul mate for my MK25

For it's price point I think in my relative inexperience, to be a reasonable alternative to the Aimpoint micro magnifier. The glass is clear and it lines up nicely with my H1. My only knock is what many people have already mentioned in online reviews in that the flip mount being tailored to flip to the left. Just a little odd for the majority of right eye dominant shooters. In any event you can still install it backwards to make it flip to the right which is more like a minor annoyance rather than a full negative. Once installed as others have mentioned, there does appear to be some minor play in the mount which for a weekend jockey like me is negligible. Hope this helps.
Mine surprised me by how accurate it was to 200 yards ( maximun distance available ), i went with a top scope and will reload for it... Never thought a 10.3 barrel would perform so good, here is the new set up for my load devellopment, this is a fast aquisition rig... JP.

I bought one of those new M4A1's in Milspec + brown, it's in the mail now should be here Wednesday. My first AR and I'm beyond excited at this point. Can anybody recommend flip up iron sights? I have it narrowed down to either Troy battle sights, Midwest Industries, or the GG&G spring loaded A2 sights. For the RIS II rail do I want the low profile ones or just the standard height... I think I'm gunna start a thread about it but if someone here has some experience with any of the above it would save having to do that.. thanks!

Get regular ones, low profile sights are for raised rails.
I've got KAC micro 600m rear and front flip (not micro) on mine, I don't think anything else would work better, these are awesome.
Probably why they are issued on MK18, M4A1 and MK12...
Got to shoot mine a little this week end, the sight are perfect and although I did not shoot it from far, considering the 25m/300m sighting targets I use I was still impressed by the accuracy of the little thing.
It is loud with the BCM tho, maybe a flaming pig is in my future... and I'll try a H2 buffer next time to see if it smooths it out a bit. Sling is in the mail and new ADM B2-T1 cowitness too
Its my new favorite gun ever for sure tho.

For the love of (insert your God here), use the KAC taupe front sight and either 300m or 200-600m flip up rear sights the MK18 "Mod 1s." If you can't find them just get an EOTech, Aimpoint, Elcan, and leave them off like most of the high speed, low drag guys do anyways and spend the money on ammunition. Just my opinionated $0.02...
