DD MK18 What red dot/optic you use?

Eotech! Love the large sight picture and 1 MOA dot.

I run the Eotech, a Aimpoint Micro T1 and a Trijicon Reflex. The Trijicon sucks with low light but does not need batteries. The Eotech is great but battery life is short compared to the T1. T1 issue is the dot gets fuzzy when intensity increases. Also the business end of the T1 reflects a red glow when hit by light...if that is an issue for you. These are all $500 or less red dots. There are others like Burris, ACOG, Elcan but I have no experience with them...a bit out of my price range!

Aimpoint PRO, great quality, 2 MOA dot, great price. I find a circle is easier to aim with than the box of the EOtech, though you can't really go wrong with either.

I have a T1 and I agree about the fuzzy with intensity, haven't had a chance to try an Eotech.

EOTech 512, Primary Arms 3x magnifier with Samson 30mm quick flip mount. Personally the EOTech works great for me and the PA magnifier is great quality and inexpensive or even free!

Did they ship directly to you? They told me they don't ship outside the US.

EoTech 512 and G33 combo on my primary. Tried the VMX3 magnifier before, but the EoTech G33 is waaaaay better quality (even at twice the price).

My shorty is just for fun and has a SPARC with no magnifier.

IMHO the 65/1 MOA recticle of the EoTech is much faster to pick up than single dots like the SPARC or Aimpoint.

Same thing! I think fuzziness is endemic to this price range of red dots. Just crank to the appropriate intensity setting and that should be fine. I have the same issue with the Leopold VR series lit reticle scopes too.

When I get the dot tuning into a peanut, it tells me that the brightness has to be turned down. I'm pretty happy with the T1. When used properly you get a red dot suspended in space and have very good peripheral vision with the sight tube "greying out". I've tried the EOTech and while it's an OK sight, I preferred the Aimpoints due to their simplicity, durability, light weight and battery life. In CQB drills from the low ready I can effectively engage the 4"x2" card at 10m in a one second window with a controlled pair, and I'm not getting any younger.

SOCOM is using the Elcan SpecterDR 1-4x FDE or the EOTech EXPS in FDE. I have an EOTech. The lighter SBR would offset the added weight of a SpecterDR. Both seem to be popular choices. Took a look through an Aimpoint T1 a few weeks ago and I must say that on a SBR it's quite maneuverable. I still like the EOTechs for SBRs.
