De-chrome?

anyone know a good place to get a gun De-chromed? also do you know if it will affect the markings on the gun at all? i have a polish Vis 35 chromed but it has germen markings. i wanna de chrome it but also dont wanna loose the waffen proofs.

This a long shot, but call Atotech Canada. They are chemical coatings manufacture. If the gun is chromed, you need to use a 50 percent hydracloric acid solution to strip the chrome, then use Atotech's chemical to remove the nickel layer. I have done this with pluming parts in a plating shop I used to work at. Or call a platter in your area. Try Plating Master if you are near London.
