deactivated AK74

Last time I checked prices in Ukraine about 3 years ago semi-auto AKMS (not 47) were going for $800 on civil market. No limit on mag capacity also. Sometimes our Canadian "progressive" gun laws make me wonder what lawmakers were smoking.
Update: here's current prices:
AKS74U - $2000
AKMS - $777-925
SVD - $2100
here's the link, just divide everything by 8.1 - http://www.schmeisser-service.com.ua/hunt/nareznue.php

Such balls that the SKS has to have the bayo removed, as well as the K98 having the Bayonet lug chopped off.... Just like German gun laws until a few years ago... No bayos or bayo lugs... So retarded...

Those TOZ .22 rifles that are listed on that website are the best rimfire rifles ever made though.... NEVER had a malfunction or jam on the Semi Auto I have, and super accurate too. Way better than all the 10/22s and 597s I've owned..

Yeah, I believe following are the requirements: no full-auto (and they are relaxed about the ways it is converted), no bayonet lug, sights modified to have max 200 meters. There's no perfect place on earth for gun collectors.

It will be a cold day in hades, before I pay $1000 for a dewat. Good for those that got that, but that seems crazy to me. Heck, buy an all metal airsoft version if you must hold one, at least that way you can hunt butterflies.

a BB Yunker by Izhmash could be a less expensive alternative to dewat for a wall hanger, it's not exactly cheap though. It's twice the price of AK at the factory.

Or buy a BB made by real sword.
The part of reciver made by the real chinese type 56 (AK clone)
so does their type95 BBs

The weight of the AK-74 is roughly 8 lbs. Considering scrap metal prices. It's worth $1.50... That's what I am willing to pay for a firearm that will never work. But that's just me. It's like buying an authentic "deactivated" $100,000 sports/luxury car. It looks great in your driveway and you can open the doors, sit in the seats, play with the switches and pretend to drive. But it will never drive. Just sit there to be viewed and fondled.
+1 lol

For comparisons sake, less than two years ago I purchased a modern-spec deactivated Norinco Type 56 factory full auto in flawless condition for $250 SHIPPED.

Anyone paying $1K for these 74s is a SUCKER plain and simple.

and 2 years from now when they go for 1800$, 1200$ will be a good buy.....maybe. marstar could bring in a boatload and bring the price to 150$

ether way its a guessing game

They are not going to be worth $1800 in two years. There are a very limited number of people willing to pay more for a dewat wall hanger that similar functioning firearms.

FWIW, I would WAY WAY WAY rather have a 1950's era Type II or Type III Soviet AK47 than a modern circa 1980's/1990's A74. I fact, I just bought a Type III AK47 dewat for a LOT less than $1000.

Normally I don't buy Dewats, but if cheap, they can be fun to play with for a while. And they do hold value, a lot of folks have no PAL anyway.

according to me, dewatt is a collector market.

No difference for me between functionnal AK or dewatt AK in canada.
You own the license to own functionnal AK and you don t have the transport autorization to go anywhere with your functionnal ak. You can't bring the AK anywhere out of your house and you are in the obligation or all firearms rules. So you will never shoot your functional AK.

If i can buy a functionall firearm i can use at the range i will buy it. But i live in canada and i can't own or use a functionnal AK

I have 2 choice:

Never own a AK
Buy a dewatt

When i can't have the functionnal version of firearms, i buy dewatt because i am a collector before a shooter. I own many firearms i never use.

Sorry for my poor writting

you know this for sure?
the rest of the dewats have steadily been going up so I don't know why a AK74 shouldn't aswell. 1800 was just a number thrown out there, but they will continue to increase in value

I think dewatt firearms will stay at the same price or continue to increase in value.
Anyway i don t buy dewatt for re-sell i buy it as a collector and no intention to re-sell my dewatt.

I don't have a crystal ball but to expect a firearm to more than double in value in 2 years is a bit optimistic.

If anything I would expect dewat AKs to maintain the same or decrease in value as the supply increases. Marstar has suggested they may release more 74s and as Prohib class owners die or stop collecting many of their firearms will be turned to dewats (not 74s in particular but Norcies, Galils, etc).

you must not have been watching the prices on garands, or enfields very closely lately then if you think a rifles value cant double in 2 years. admittedly that's a bit diff from a dewat, but the same club of colectors basicaly

for exactly the reasons you say, no more CA guns getting passed on or imported, more and more people will have no choice to collect dewat. prices will go up. definatly will not go down
