That's why I will just buy a Valmet. And call it the day lol

according to me, dewatt is a collector market.

No difference for me between functionnal AK or dewatt AK in canada.
You own the license to own functionnal AK and you don t have the transport autorization to go anywhere with your functionnal ak. You can't bring the AK anywhere out of your house and you are in the obligation or all firearms rules. So you will never shoot your functional AK.

If i can buy a functionall firearm i can use at the range i will buy it. But i live in canada and i can't own or use a functionnal AK

I have 2 choice:

Never own a AK
Buy a dewatt

When i can't have the functionnal version of firearms, i buy dewatt because i am a collector before a shooter. I own many firearms i never use.

Sorry for my poor writting

There was a guy on here a few years ago who took a stamped valmet m78 receiver and riveted in Romanian akm trunions and installed an akm kit. If memory serves, it was restricted due to bbl length, but at least was a usable ak47 that was not a nose heavy rpk.

I think if the valmets were more available, this would be a more common occurrence.

Bfiles is doing that to a Valmet right now. Not sure what parts he is using, but he is trimming down an M78.

Had a dewat AK several years ago, sold it for what the rifle cost me plus the deactivation: $450. Just couldn't get past the fact it was once a functioning rifle that was just a chunk of metal and wood. Have a CZH2003 (VZ58) and a CSA Sporter carbine that scratch the AK itch nicely

Damn... I want a functioning AK.

When I was down in Arizona. The small gun shop staff in Maricopa could not help but giggle and laugh at the Canadian guy molesting a Yugo M92 PAP.
