Some outdate threads out there said Collector's Source and Ellwood Epps do deactivations. Sent them emails, but does anyone know of someone else that does quality work around the GTA and parts around? Looking to deactivate a Tokarev "Sportowy" model since the barrel is blown. Would love to have it on my desk to remind me that I need to make it out to the range more often :p

If you know, please share.

Any registered gunsmith can do a deactivation. The delay will be how well the RCMP Firearms Lab trusts his/her work. I had a decrepit Ishapore FN neutered by Jason Spencer at Gunco in Ottawa. The paperwork came back in no time. But I think that is because he does so many of them, and has earned a good reputation that the lab guys see his name and sign the form right away.

Thanks, I'm going to give him a call. What's his going rate for this type of work?

It was a couple hundred dollars. I learned a long time ago, you pay the gunsmith for his time not necessarily by the hour.

Spoke with Jason from GunCo today. Seemed like a good guy so I'm going to place my trust in him for this one. Thanks for the info and I'll post a photo of the finished product once I get it back.

How did you blow a barrel on a .22? Those are pretty tough little guns, the only thing that makes them a .22 is the barrel and firing pin and recoil spring.
