My experience is the hollow points kill better but the ballistic tips are more accurate, the rem brand is my fav so far.

I agree,the hollow points wont group with this gun I almost took the gun back until I tried the 17 grain ballistic tips, they made a world of difference.Im wondering if the ballistic tips are all made by one company with different labels as I opened up one box and it had some red,brown,and black tips all in the same box.
Interesting. I have found quite the opposite with regards to kill power.
I find on gophers, the Vmax poly tips usually kill them instantly by turning them inside out, and the hollow points just pass though without mushrooming, leaving the little buggers staggering around before the die.
At what ranges are you shooting at?
Vmax polytips definitely group better than the hollow points.
Ranges 25 to 100 yds, I find the hollow points sometimes don't exit but drop them on the spot, vmax's definatly turn em inside out but they usually flop around and sometimes crawl down the hole. At really long ranges have seen the vmaxes punch through with out much damage but not enough kills at extended ranges to say that's the norm.
