Got this at cabelas today. 130$ plus a 30$ mail in rebate. So in the end, its 100$. Comes with bushnell trophy xlt 3-9 with butler creek caps, millett tactical medium rings, butler creek bone collector sling, and 20 targets.

I see the rebate is no longer active? I was looking for a budget hunting scope for a secondary rifle, just picked it up for $129 w/Free shipping. Figured even if I didn't like it, I could throw it on the EE and get around $100 for it (it's a $160 scope by itself usually), keeping the rings, sling and targets. I think it's on sale until the 25th.

I paid more for one of those well over 10 years ago and it was a good scope. It was the model before the XLT and it held zero for the years I had it on a hard kicking rifle. Bushnell has some good product for very reasonable prices and have stepped up on the warranty side of things as well.

Yeah the rebate program is long done, but even at 130$, that's still a hell of a deal.

One thing about optics you usually get what you pay for.....I would think it would be fine for a rimfire rifle or a light recoiling centerfire like a hornet, .204 or .223? Budget glass, but if busnell backs it up(in my experiences they do) then what's not to like?

Cheap glass usually suffers from poor light transmission, blurry at higher magnification, poor reticle adjustments and crappy reticle tracking.

You never can tell. I put an inexpensive Bushnell on a Rem 8mm Magnum some years back because I was anxious to get to the range. Still holding, still zeroed. Sometimes they work out. - dan

I have Bushnell Trophy II on my Ruger M77 RSI 30-06sprg. that's never caused me one second of grief. I wish I had have known about this sale. I needed one for my new Marlin 1895.

Bushnell makes good entry level scopes. The one that came on my axis never had an issue in 3 years. Started life on a 270, seen a few hundred rounds, many miles bouncing around the back seat while hunting, and many miles walking through west coast bush. Never lost zero. Now it sits on my 243 because I bought a viper for my 270. I'll be keeping that cheap scope until it breaks, it's not worth enough on the used market to part with it.

Like Looky said, i wouldn't spend $199 on a trophy xlt (they are usually only $180ish at walmart/CT.) I don't really like the $200 price range scopes. You can get a used, older scope of comparable quality for much less on the EE (i paid $45 for my buddies bushnell scope), or you've got to step up to the $300-350 range to get better quality lens ect.

My local Canadian Tire had these scopes on clearance a little while back for $70 I believe. I scooped up two and have been using one on one of my ARs in 223. Decent budget scope, good light transmission and holds zero well. A steal for the price.

These really are good scopes for the money. I've got one on my 17hmr and used to have one an an old 308 hunting rifle. Held zero on the 308 and served its purpose. 130$ for this package is a hell of a deal. Hell the millet rings and sling alone are worth 100$

It gets the job done, inexpensively. It's just a stop-gap for me until I find out what optic I want to go for... so far I've liked my buddy's Vortex PST, but I'm looking for something else that would work for me, for less than that $1000 price tag. For the price paid, I doubt I'll lose money when I throw it on the EE after upgrading.
