Very good deal indeed and thank you for sharing!

I wonder if the scale is any good?
I was thinking of picking this up and dedicating it for decapping by using a Lee decapping die.
Thoughts?

Edited to add: I'm a reloading virgin hence the dumb questions everywhere:redface:

Not a bad idea at all really. I need absolutely nothing in that kit, but for some reason feel like I should buy it because it’s just so cheap.

Lee Chalenger is $80 on sale at Cabellas right now and for the extra $20 you do get some extra.
If my research is correct, most modern presses are aluminum, even the progressive.
Cast aluminum should hold up fine for the pressures these presses will be seeing.
In all honesty, I wish they were all cast iron!
I'll be saving for a Hornady LNL AP and this will strictly be for decapping.
I was going to buy the Lee Reloader for $56, aluminum as well and not as well built as this unit, on Amazon but this has the extras that I will need anyhow.
Great deal and I can't wait to receive it!

I bought this press and kit in 1990 and have reloaded 10's of thousands of rounds with it, both rifle and pistol calibers. I broke the ram within a month of using it; however, it was replaced free of charge and no problems over the last 29 years.

I didn't need another kit, but with free shipping and a gift card in my wallet, I ordered another one anyway. Don't be put-off by the fact that it has an aluminum frame. This is an affordable start if you are thinking about reloading.

I don't see the challenger press online at all anymore. Maybe that's an in store only clearance deal? I did see them on sale a while ago at my local Cabs, but last time I was in they didn't have any. Maybe they've phased out of carrying that particular press?

I have had one for a back up press for about 6 years, use it mainly for pulling bullets and odd stuff. It works but know where near the quality of my RC II

Modern high strength aluminum can be hardened. I once stressed an old Herter's "C" press frame made out of ductile iron.
