I finally decided I’ll get another pistol. Now do I just buy a Glock or do I buy one of the Gucci shadow system that are still around. Are the shadow system worth it?

Depends on your style. You want Gucci stuff with everything done to it then get the shadow system if you want military / LEO get a factory Glock 19X or 17

Short answer, no.

Long answer, probably not. You’re paying for a bunch of milling and coating that adds little to no functional value. I’ll even argue that the Glock is superior; better trigger (Gen5), better stock sights provided you opt for Ameriglo’s, and no concerns about parts compatibility.

The one variable that may change the equation is if you’re going to run an optic. MOS Glock’s seem to be gone, so the cost of milling & re-coating the stock Glock will put you close in price.

Use the extra $ for ammo.

Dude, they're really sweet.

Grab the DR920 Elite from RDSC, if you can justify the expense. They actually ooze the feeling of quality compared to a Glock and have great features. The trigger is very nice, not the best out there but still really good and feels high quality. The sight picture is REALLY nice though. The nice thing about that DR920 Elite is it is one of the few models that comes with the Night Fission brand sights instead of Ameriglo. I tossed around the idea of the XR920 Elite that comes with the holosun because the colour combo was cool, but the really light shorter slide is supposed to be pretty poppy and not that flat shooting.

DR920 plus the Holosun ACSS green I grabbed from marstar.. yes pretty pricey package. But going to be a lot of fun.

A Glock with the Tinney alpha trigger is going to be better then the shadow systems. More reliable, cheaper and better finishes. The shadow is mainly milling, grip work and a threaded barrel. The only reason now to consider is optics mounting. It's very unlikely and more Glocks with mos are going to be available but shape has optic cut. If you want to mount an optic, then a 17 plus a trigger and milling is going to be almost the same money. For me I'd still prefer that but a lot of people would want plug and play.

I just got a quote from black box in regards to milling my g19x for an RMR... 350 dollars including my cost of shipping it there and taxes approximately. So it pretty much comes down to do you want to pay a few hundred extra for holes in the slide and what I'd imagine would be slightly better grippyness. I'm a glock fan boy so I'd personally rather the glock in gen 5 with the Marksman barrel.
