Why is there a need for a transfer reference number if buying from a store? When I chased up one of my previous transfers with the AB CFO I didn’t have a transfer number and they just found it through my PAL.
If you want to put blind faith that they have the gun then go for it. I want a transfer number to prove there is a gun there in there name, I bought 2 sig specter pro comps over the past month. Each one was told we don't do transfer numbers. Guess what? 2 weeks later only one came in and they thought they were getting 3. Sorry no gun. Found another to be told opps they had a glitch. Tenda, pulled the same with me. Saw decent price on something over a month ago and bought it. No number no number. Saw another one come up at PR, should I buy? Missed the PR one thinking. Tried to get an answer from tenda. Nothing. Finally got Transfer number after 4 weeks. They did the transfer the same day they sent the number so they didn't have it for almost a month. I have not seen one since so if Tenda didn't get what they presold I would have been sunk. I got lucky but many didn't.
There are 6 sponsored dealers on here that have cancelled people's transfers weeks after supplies dried up. Also the ref number tells you when it was initiated so the dealer cannot just wait days or weeks to process. Some dealers were same day. Others took 3 weeks and cost the owner a year of shooting because they pissed around. I saw a post of someone who bought on June 2nd and the transfer wasn't sent in until July 20th. In Ontario that means you have a year wait because someone didn't bother. Asking for a number proves they did the work you paid them for.
Prophet river gave everyone the serial number, transfer number and invoice the same day as purchase. No excuses. No issues. They have proven they are the now the top dealer as far a customer service goes. I stand by what I said. Wolverine used to be the top dog but when they use the "well we don't give them out cause it's to much work" line on me, I replied with "well then giving you my visa number is to much work."
To me Ellwood Epps, Nordic marksman, bullseye and especially prophet river have earned a lot of future business by answering emails, doing transfer when they say they did and earning our money. If others want to play games and think the numbers are no big deal then go for it, but talk to the people the ordered all the incoming Glocks from you know who. They didnt learn they had no transfers until all the other Glocks were long gone.
