Ya, I'd say paint the road side of the blind orange. I dont think too many people would scope up a deer from the road if its standing within obvious shooting range of a visible hunting blind.
Signs are good too, only keep them simple, yet try not to forget anything. something like:
Private Property
Hunters Beyond Trees, Don't Shoot!
or: Trespassing is breaking the law, Hunting while trespassing is Poaching.
um you sure there not looking on the land on the other side of the road?
all you need to be is 15ft off the road when you are on "maintained roads"
300ft from hiways
i think 1km from a house
if the road/ trail is not maintained then you need to be 3ft the the road side
thats if its crown land
None of the above matters if they're hunting or shooting from a vehicle.
Contact DNR, I'm sure they'll set up a decoy deer. Easier to get a conviction if it's private land they get caught shooting on. I've confronted many roadhunters and most will say "this is a public road, I can drive here if I want", even though I know damn well they're hunting.
It's not just the guys shooting from the road, though that's not at all uncommon, it that they will drive right onto private land and cruise the treeline, hoping to surprise a deer. It's hard to catch them at it, because if they see someone coming they simply drive back to the road and away they go. After that, how do you prove they were ever on the land?
I think you paint a pretty broad stroke when you say "dealing with road Hunters Here in Sask probaly 90% of guys drive around and look for deer, when you have 5 miles seperating a small bush or tree line most guys opt to drive. Nothing is illegal about driving around, finding deer and shooting them when your obeying the regs. Lots of people have a "Holier the thou" attitude...when you're not making the 50 mile chase on foot but thats their own opinion and most people could care less.
Maybe you should point your finger at "Hunters who are Breaking the Law" not at the method of hunting in which clearly irratates you.
I have to agree, although 90% of my hunting is done by walking or ground blind and as much as I hate to admit it the best deer at horn scoring night are usually the ones that someone got while driving down a road or a field. If people are obeying the rules its tough to condem thier way of hunting as it does produce results, around here anyway.

So if you see some game on the way to the bush you are hunting illegally because you are in a vehicle???I believe that is not what the regulations have in mind.Everyone is a illegal hunter that sees a animal?? Do you close your eyes when you drive?
