I believe that is only since they reversed the hated HST... Ontario has HST so they get charged the "harmonized" (read shafted) tax.
Now we have the gst /pst division so we get charged the 5% if we buy out of province.
Its based on the shipping address and tax structure I believe...
You are right. If you buy goods in a non-HST province, and you live in an HST province, the business has to charge you the HST.
