DEAR CZ {cz 712}

I doubt that anyone thinks you're being inappropriately harsh. I, too, think you were talking to an inexperienced (or just plain poor) representative at P&D - they're usually reasonable and understanding people. The "P" in P&D stands for Phil, the "D" stands for Diane. Phil and Diane own the place. You might consider phoning or emailing them to relate your experience. In my dealings with Phil and Diane I have found them to be fair and caring people. I suspect they would be surprised to hear about how you were treated by their staff. They need to hear about these incidents in order to fix them for the next guy(gal).

I did speak to Diane, after I called them a second time, she was very quick in finding the proper channel for me to go thru, I'm going to bite my tongue now and deal with my issue in a gentlemanly like way, thxs all for info and opinions

When all is said and done, I sure am looking forward to how all this ends.
Please keep us informed.

the gun is a POS and will still be a POS when it comes back from warranty in 4 months....

oh and the dealer...they don't seem to want much of your business anymore

someone missed their morning caffeine- I have had over 20 CZ firearms over the years (Pragotrade,London Arms etc.) and I have always found that they are excellent value/price...

This is just formma dubbly.
How would you react to the O.P.'s problem if per say it was placed on your lap?
Or what would you expect from the dealer if per say the unit was defective?

I emailed CZ they said they can't do anything cause I bought in Canada, its not a mag tube issue its the sorry I don't know the name for it, the piece that lifts the shell into the chamber, I'm not a gunsmith so I am not going to tear this thing down I really don't wanna void any warranty either

They didn't tell you about the CZ warranty center here in Canada? Did you e-mail CZUB or CZ-USA? CRAFM is the CZ warranty center for Canada

cz usa wanted nothing to with a firearm from canada, they basically told me I was on my own , got that respose from a lot of people on this issue SO off in the mail went my 37 day old shotgun to BC , where a really responsive gentleman named Joe at DLASK is doing his best to repair it thxs joe

CZ USA would want nothing to do with it as far as warranty work since it's a Canadian gun. It would be a pain in the keester sending it to the US for work. But they could have tried steering you in the right direction, or did they?

I feel your pain as I am going through the same thing with a Savage. It seems all firearms which are sold in Canada and come mainly from the US the company's want nothing to do with them. When I called I was told to return it to the supplier/distributor and it was up to them to deal with it. It has a lot to do with the US import/export laws But I must say I wonder about your dealer mine took it right back and sent it of to his supplier. It is now going on 7.5 months so I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it. lol. I also wonder if you will get warranty as it might have to go through the distributor in order to get it. lets hope that is not the case. Good Luck

There's a subtle difference between these two situations. Savage is made in the US. They want you to go through your Canadian distributor because the import/export process is set up to go through the official channels.

CZ guns in Canada are made in Turkey and do not come through CZ USA (Although, the early ones had CZ USA on the box. I don't know if those shipping these days still do. I think the reason they had(have) CZ USA on the box was because the models they were shipping to Canada were the same as those they were manufacturing for CZ USA and they didn't have alternate boxes at the time - could be wrong about that.). Shipping them to CZ USA would not only be pointless, they'd have to be shipped back without being fixed, so they could be sent to the Canadian repair depot.

I'm going through a CZ issue right now though I'm dealing directly with CZ in Brod in Czechoslovakia. So far so good, but it is certainly slow going. The language barrier doesn't help much either.

Thanks,
Cal.

Hey Cal any Luck with your Cz? Its been 5 months now and still no Luck for me apperantly my P.O.S CZ Semi auto shotgun, Is going to be in The Shop waiting for parts for god knows how long, And I get to Miss out on Duck Season this year, Oh yeah Thanx again P&D GFYHs

I had a buddy with a CZ 455 issue, and got the same BS. I have 2 rimfires now, but won't be buying another. Too much BS for my liking.

Seems this crap is all too common in Canada. We are truly second class gun owners comared to the US.

Companies don't care, and our dealers are more than happy to f us over, and claim they can't help.
