DEAR LORD!! How do I clean this Stainless!

... and will remove more metal than you want.

The idea is to clean the stains away, not to remove metal.

METAL POLISHES MAKE THINGS SHINEY BY REMOVING THE METAL ALONG WITH THE DIRT ! ! ! !

I agree completely!! Power tools and guns do not usually make a good combination. You can cause damage very quickly with just a slip

Took her home today, then to the range, 100 rounds later and this is what we're left with.

Picture doesn't quite depict just how much darker the cylinder really got.

Pretty nasty. Needs more elbow grease than just a good rub with a fine cloth, I tried googling a bit and some say Mother's is a decent product. (one guy suggested vinegar, which apparently turned out to just darken the other guys steel, yikes!)

Whats worked for you?

~thanks!
Flitz would takes seconds to clean that.
;)

Go to home hardware or somewhere like that, canadian tire sometiimes, look for a dark blue can about 4 inches wide by 4 inches tall its called "NEVR DULL" Its a wadding material thats treated with something or other. Its a real miricle product for cleaneing and polishing metals. It would tke care of that in about a minute or two

Why clean it to that extent? It will just get dirty again the next time you shoot it. Do you guys scrub the BBQ grill spotless every time also?

why wipe your butt til it's fully clean and spotless, you're just going to take another dump...? I handle my guns as if they're an extension of me. I am going to be touching and handling this gun and it has lead all over it, I clean it because I don't want to be in any more contact than I need to be.

I have a bit of a rule I live by for cleaning, for every hour I'm on the range shooting, it's a half an hour of cleaning. Taking care of the things I'm spending thousands of my hard earned dollars on just makes sense to me. I wash my truck even when it's supposed to be raining the next day, it's going to get dirty again, but, at least I get everything off of it to keep the finish nice and remove all the build up.

As for cleaning my cyclinders I use a brass brush and hoppes 9

You do realize that there is a cloud of lead vapor around your gun and your hands every time you pull the trigger, right? You will get far more lead from that vapor than you will from that which is baked onto your gun. It's stuck to the gun so well people start threads on gun forums about how to remove it......;)

Your best bet for staying away from lead would be to sell those nasty, filthy guns to someone who's not afraid of a little lead. I look forward to you WTS ad in the EE.:D

BTW, that baked on lead? It has no odor. Unlike an unwiped butt.

can i ask a newbie question here since i own a few guns but no revolvers

is that really the carbon deposit after 100 rnds or was it particularly dirty ammo? reloads?

ive always wanted a stainless revolver but good lord that is gona be a ##### to clean

where can you get this i have looked every where in the GTA area

Birchwood Casey doesn't come to Canada any more sadly.
There was a french label issue and that required them to go through a label do over and thus be re submitted for another environmental assessment.
Birchwood Casey pretty much said screw that, we just won't sell to Canada.
Remaining stocks are dwindling.
