Death in the corn feild@8:15

So you've been out for like... 4 hours? Good for you! I can't wait for pics.

I'm a little jealous. No turkeys here in Southern Saskatchewan. Something I've always wanted to do.
 
Plenty of gobbling this morning but all on the other side of the "No Trespassing" signs. Sleet and high wind turning to rain so the big boxes stayed in the pouch and got on a slate over glass pot. Usual early calls followed later by some not too aggressive yelps. About half frozen I snuk back and trimmed some Hemlock bows to dress up my blind and very carefully started adding here and there when out came Thomas looking for the hen he'd heard earlier. I gave a soft pur with a cluck and he let out a gobble. Another purr and in he came paintbrush near horizontal in the wind. He stopped and I think he my have seen me shouldering the Noginator so I let Old Nog have at him. Winchester Extended Range 5's and he died instantly @ 38yrds.

I can't wrap my head around the turkey-course cost, I could never see getting a return on my investment for that... I know it's about the sport, but I live so far away from the gobble-gobbles... I'd be lucky to go hunting for them once a year. :(
