Not getting out until Friday morning...waiting...waiting...waiting...seeing pics like that isn't helping much!

Wasting no time, I see. :) Congrats.

A friend of mine got one this morning, too. They were just taking it to be weighed when they called me, but they're guessing at about 22 lbs. (Big bird, if the guess is correct.)

Where did you take that brute? I am in meetings in thunderBay this morning. On my way to the airport I seen a dozen with a few baby's. I am back tommorrow and will be out by early afternoon. Greatjob!!! hope I can put some good pics like yours by weekend.

Hey Red, Thanks for having DarrylB and I out for the day I was a great hunt even with that little bit of rain.

I rolled the Coyote at 30 yards as he tried to attack my Jake Decoy (10:55am)

The 2 Turkey's then came out of the woods at 11:15 am and came straight across the field to our decoy's in full strut. DarrylB took the first shot and hit the big one it drop and then was back up and running Darryl shot it twice more befor it finaly hit the dirt. The second one jump up off the ground to fly away and and I knocked him down with one shot

What a Day

Hehehe! Cool! So, I'm guessing the coyote got a taste of turkey load...? So much for the pelt, eh? But who cares? Good stuff, guys! Knowing where BR is located, did you shoot all of these off his deck or out his bathroom window? :D :p

Geeze up in this contry I'm really thrilled this year to have seen a couple turkeys!

Is that one small assed coyote or is just the pic???

Hey REDD you hang around them youngens to carry your game out :D

Yesterday morning was pissing down rain, then snow, and with serious rye flurries from the night before. Three of us were up at the new hunt camp to match wits with birds that have brains the size of peas.

The birds won. If they were in fact anywhere within a mile of us.......

But hopefully swamp will come on to this thread and tell us about the TWO that he missed...........

I had some good luck this morning as well

Well after my bitter defeat yesterday in the rain I decided to give it another try this morning.

I got up at 4AM and was set-up and waiting by 5:45AM. I set up about 75 yds in the bush and had my decoys 30 yds away hen first and then the jake 6' behind the hen (both facing me). From about 5:45AM until about 6:30 I did not hear anything. A dear came within 50yds from me and about 30 yds from my decoys. hung around for about 5 minutes then darted off back into the bush.

I used my box call and heard a gobble in the far distance to my left. We exchanged calls but it didn't sound like he was getting closer. I then switched to my Quaker Boy puch pin yelper (which I just bought at Shooters Choice the day before), and he sounded off again. I tried again but louder and he sounded off again with another much closer answer over my right sholder. I slowly twist myself so I can see over my right sholder and see him coming in a zig zag pattern. Every time I call on the yelper he answers. Here is where it gets interesting.

Tom approaches until he sees my decoys and stops dead. He then goes in a full 3/4 circle around my decoys staying within about 75-100yds away from them. When he gets to my left side he disappears into the field and does not respond of any of my calls. I move towards him about 40yds past my decoys and grab a tree and quickly set-up. I wait 20 min and call and he sounds off and starts walking back into the bush the way he came. He came within 35yds and was looking right at me. Started strutting for my decoys behind me and BOOM.....he didn't feel a thing!

Nice size bird -
