Hi:

I have reloaded many other calibers and have not run into this problem. I have a Lee resizing die (all my dies are Lee) and what is happening is the decapper/expander is sticking in the case and pulling out of the die. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am lubing the case and inside neck, the resizing does not "feel" any different than any other time I have reloaded, the only thing different is I am using Federal brass when all my other calibers are winchester brass but could that really be the problem?

Thnx
Derrick

I had this problem recently with my .303 RCBS dies. I put a bit of lube in the neck of the shell, and tightened the nut on the top of the die (not sure what it's called, but it tightend/loosens the threading on the rod to adjust it). It pulled out with a bit of resistance, and I tightened it some more after. Haven't had the problem since, and I've put a couple hundred cases through.

I haven't had this problem with Lee rifle dies but it did happen with one set of Lee pistol dies. It was solved by adjusting the die body( with a case in the shell holder) down a little too much , then tightening the depriming pin very tight with 2 wrenches then turning the die body out to the proper position. The key was very tight with 2 wrenches, one holding the body and one tightening the pin locking collet.

Federal brass is very hard. I found working with it very difficult, I would go back to WW brass or try remington.

Strange. I have always found Federal brass to be softer than any other brass.

The two-wrench advice will sove your problem.
