Picked up a Pachymayr Decelerator pad at the Wholesale Sports liquidation for 60% off regular price. Intended for my 7.62x39 Remington 799 and at that price makes the installation feasible. Not worth paying regular price for the pad and having a gunsmith do it which would cost about 1/2 of what I paid for the rifle new.
Not needed for recoil but rather because there's a hard plastic plate covering the buttstock and it slips off my shoulder when shooting off-hand which is annoying.
Some work on the stock and sanding by hand required. Also increases LOP which was a bit short for my liking.
