maybe like you say for training purpose.. some of the mum have been over stamped but japanese build arisaka concentric cirlce on the receiver with no mum for the training purpose

Rumor has it that the "concentric circle" Arisakas were issued to their State Police, the Kempetai. (sp?) They were the Japanese version of the Gestapo.

I thought the overstamped mum in this case meant they were one of the ones sold to Siam / Thailand in the 30s along with the Type-66 Arisaka.
