This pretty little M38 showed up today.

Notice, there isn't any cut out for the bayonet....A real M38 stock.

Oh yeah! No import markings.

The bore is very, very clean and shiney. It is counterbored, but at least all the serial numbers are stamped match, none of that crappy electro pencil.

Nice one! :) Only way to improve on it is if that wartime beech laminate stock hadn't been modded post-war with the rear band dish cuts :)

Sorry... not everyone speaks Mosin.

Laminated M38 stocks without the bayonet groove are all WW2 manufacture and are made of beech like a K98k laminate stock. The post-war ones are all made of laminate birch "russian plywood" with alternating vertical and horizontal laminates that give a two-tone look.

The stock above is an M38 stock without the bayonet cutout and without the post-war stock re-inforcing bolt. When the stock was newly made, it would not have been dished out to get your fingers behind the rear barrel band to assist in its removal. Those cuts would have been added when the carbine was refurbed post-war.

Better?

Well Got this baby on the 30th of November. My K11 ..All matching with a mirror bore.

Hi All

These are technically November/December purchases but here goes.

This is the Model 1895 Mannlicher that I picked up, 1917 manufacture. Modified to 8x56R in 1930? Has the S on the receiver ring.

This is the Webley MkVI that I just received yesterday. :D :D :D :D 1917 manufacture as well. Now all I have to do is pick up some .455 Webley (the one round that I have just won't cut it.)

Andy, if we ever get the Rifle/Pistol Milsurp shoot off the ground I think I'll be coming as an Austro-Hungarian. Especially since I have the rifle and the pistol to use now. :D :D

And also while it isn't technically a Milsurp, after a long gestation period CGN034 is ALIVE! Pictures will follow once I have it back in my hands.

Love those Mannlichers!

FYI - our Spring and Fall EOHC Milshoots will have a handgun category added as of our next event. Smith's Falls FGC started theirs last Fall and will continue.

Nice!!

Be prepared to pay at least $50.00 for 1 box of boolets for it...

Winter project

December is turning into semi auto month. My 4th semi in the past 10 days. This is what I scored from the Brandon gunshow. I paid too much but what the heck.
A M1 Garand SA receiver and a SA marked war time barrel (1944) :dancingbanana:

This will be my winter project so all you guys that are hoarding those SA marked parts be on the lookout for my WTB ads.
Also got a deal on an 1944 Inland M1 carbine but not finalized yet. More when that's done.

Yessir .JP is the man :D

I am pretty sure I was fondling this very rifle a few weeks ago in his store :D He seemed very keen on it and its tiger striping ;)

So I hope he wiped my drool off it before he sent it to you :p

gotta love the serial, I missed that when I was oogling it
