December Purchases

Man... some really nice pieces here! Really like the Inglis ! And the "Poor Man's Singer" !

Anyways... Santa came late, but in earnest ( ... eez small joke, no? ) and I just frigging love it.

The fit and finish, the attention to detail... superb. Whoever builds these is proud of thier work. Unlike a refurb SUIT scope for my L1A1... shot with BBQ black and a new sticker slapped on it ( crooked, of course) ah well... this No 32 makes up for it.

A big BRAVO ZULU to board member Wheaty... ( and I think he has a FEW left).

And a Happy New Years to all and sundry!

BSA No.1 mk3

This old girl arrived Dec23. The elves at Santa's Ordnance dept have certainly been working overtime this year. The rifle has a good bore with strong rifling, now I just have to do the headspacing and see how much restoration I want to do. Any advice from the Enfield guru's out there?

There doesn't appear to be that much that needs to be restored. The only thing that I can see that could be done is to lighten the stock up. If you do intend to do this remember the #1 about restoring old rifles. SANDPAPER IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. Get a good quality furniture stripper (I use circa 1850 avaliable at Home hardware), then refinish it according to this http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=120&t=85775. You may need to strip it a couple of times.
