Decent budget hunting clothes

You don't need any hunting specific clothing. Spend your money on something that you can use outside hunting. I'd say don't cheap out on boots if you walk around when you hunt.

Thelasthunt has good deals and works with ebates/Rakuten, but you have to check regularly. It's the clearance center for altitude sports. They'll often have promo codes of 20 percent off orders 200$. They currently have good prices on lowa boots for example. I got some fjallraven Keb trousers for under 100$ a few years ago that are still going strong.

Costco has great deals on Merino (socks, cloudveil base layer).

You can buy your stuff piecemeal over time as good deals come up for Women's Trendy T-Shirts.
For a budget-friendly option, you might want to check out Huntworth. They make solid gear that doesn’t break the bank, and their camo is pretty decent for waterfowl and general hunting. Also, Gamehide offers good bang for your buck, especially with their jackets and bibs. If he’s looking for something versatile across different hunting styles, you can’t go wrong with Banded for waterfowl and RedHead (from Bass Pro) for more affordable, durable pieces. Another brand to look into is Kuiu. They sometimes have sales, and while their gear can be pricier, you can find decent deals if you shop smart.

If I were buying hunting clothes on the cheap I would spend the majority of my budget on good boots. Costco has merino wool long johns and shirts. Marks has heavy wool socks and good quality work clothes in the right colours. Add a medium insulation, camo pattern Cabelas brand jacket and I'm good to go for most of my hunting in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains here in Alberta

insulated coveralls work great, you can even tune em up with some camo spray paint, hunting ain’t about making a fashion statement, and there are no rainbow crosswalks in moose country.

I have some wool stuff - Big Bill pants and a zip up jacket (the bomb for throwing on to get an armload of firewood). It works but it's bulky and heavy.
I bought a Skre Ptarmigan for late season and it is deliciously cozy, but the damned thing is too short and rides up. Gave it to my wife.
I then held my nose and plonked down for a Kuiu Superdown Haven. Very nice, close-fitting jacket, but not as warm as the Skre. Disappointing for the money I paid.
This year I am trying some King's Camo - much better price, but somewhat more bulky. I'll try to remember to check back in after this season.
One thing that won't change, Stanfield's merino base or for really cold weather, Stanfield's Expedition base - it's almost too warm, though. I don't wear it if the temps are above -20.

Random camo suit from Am@zon and a random bush. Didn't get anything this season, although, tomorrow is another day. Last one for me this year.
Quite impressed with this cheap suit, as the jacket and pants are water proof/resistant, windproof and silent. Weather resistant for sure, at least was for this season. Comfortable as well. Pockets size and placement are a bit awkward, otherwise, I am very happy with this. Maybe next year my luck will change.

Running through an extended season, getting birds and big game, layers are everything to match the changing temperatures and activity levels. I'd avoid anything really noisy but, unless stalking is the goal, there's no need to get too worked up about that. Sitting still is usually the best camo. Canadian Tire sales and second hand stores have been my friend. There is a reversible set that goes on sale.

My god I look fat but this was so cold that day...we all were well prepared but not for the unusual drop in temp. 4 hours after this picture everything was covered white with ice... not snow... some weird temp inversion. I was the only one who had warm feet. Good footwear is critical to comfort in my opinion. Cheers

I hesitated to post this link earlier, and by earlier I mean in the last year or so. I say that only because these are made in China and shipped directly from there. That said, the quality and tailoring of these pants is absolutely exceptional for the price. The 70/30 wool blend is top quality, the pants are completely lined halfway down, which means to the knee, and the stitching and tailoring are exceptional. You’d otherwise think that you had bought these at a tailor shop.

My only complaint is actually the style, if hypothetically you needed to #### yourself somewhat urgently, the overlapping Gurkha style buckles would really slow your roll. Probably to hysterical ends. The watch pocket flap is also cosmetic. For <$60 CAD they’re worth having altered by your neighborhood tailor or seamstress.

The number one style is heavier, what I’d call a winter weight and the number two style is lighter.

I'm sorry that Richard will freeze.... Not dissing the wool pants..... They are wool pants...

I've sold off most of my high-tech, waterproof/breathable, designer-camo hunting gear. I use mostly cotton duck Carhartt and wool Big Bill (the best value per dollar spent, IMHO) brands. Wool or synthetic long johns, then wool outerwear if I expect to get wet and Carhartt duck if I don't. About the only clothing items I have purchased specifically for hunting in recent years are fairly specialized. I got a Heater Body Suit a few years back which was worth every penny, I love it. I also use a Milwaukee heated vest some days. A fleece muff worn around the waist with some type of chemical or electric handwarmer inside. Boots have to be the best, I don't skimp on them, but for mostly sitting I am happy with pull-on rubber exteriors with ultra warm liners, no leather, no laces. Wool socks with sock liners, and liner gloves inside of mitts on which the top can be opened to expose my fingers for actual shooting.

I like stuff that lasts. Quality clothing designed as workwear can endure a lot of abuse, if you don't worry about looking cool. I find that most of the "hunting" clothing sold at Cabela's, Canadian Tire, etc. are absolute junk that falls apart very quickly.

Over all the years I hunted whitetail, I slowly gathered up an outfit that fit, with different types of layering, depending on the weather. Believe me, it was all "inexpensive". I even found a cheap blaze orange backpack and a blaze orange belly pouch thingy. I keep it all in a plastic container so I don't have to look all over the place.

I wore these out today when it was windy and cold as hell and remembered what a great deal they are.
