Decent "hunting" rifle in .308, semi auto. Suggestions?

Don't own a Model 100 and don't plan to. I just knew about the firing pin from the link I posted. It covers both the Winchester Model 88 and the 100.

I'll have to check both Boyds and Macon's websites. Don't need but might be prudent to get one while still able.

Cote_B ...I've nothing against the Model 100. I just prefer levers. I was tempted to buy a Model 100 carbine when one surfaced a while back.

Get a keltec RFB and swap out the evil black bits for some nice walnut. I'm sure it'll be a sight to behold. :p


My rem 750 carbine has had zero issues and continues to put meat in the freezer. They moved the gas port rearward in the 750's and the cycling reliability went up to BAR levels.

They might be half way there at best.
 
BAR, or R1... I know where there are a few R1 rifles in 308 NIB..

The Merkel SR1, HK SLB2000, Sauer 303, along with Robinson Arms chamber 308Win..
 
I have 2 friends using older browning bars,,,one in .338, and 30.06,,,they are not lightweights but balance and point very well and have been solid reliable guns for them,,
