Decent M14 Stock

M14-105-06-L.jpg

Anyone have experience with this stock. Difficult to install? Durability? Ugly? Will a Scope hold a zero on it?

General opinion is that the marstar stock is good however it doesn't come with a butt so you will need to get one for yourself seperately.

the MCS is a chassis system....... I'd drop the coin for one in a second. Not only is the upper rail part of the stock..... it also is bolted in using the sight ears on the norc receiver. Too bad this item is "prohibited" for export to civillian end users. I have chosen a Knights RAS rail for my shorty m14..... and have added a 8 inch rail under the custom fiberglass stock for bipod and tango down battle grip

The Troy MCS is now available at Brownells. As anyone actually tried to send them an International Import Certificate for this beautiful stock ? The IIC cost nothing, so i actualy want to try it out.
Question is; will Brownells refund you if the end-user certifcate is rejected by US State Dept. ?

the state department has "banned" the export of this item..... period.
no company in the u.s. can legally export it regardless of the paperwork or permits possessed. The ONLY way this item can legally leave the states is if it has been ordered by canadian law enforcement/military , and the order is done through proper requisition channels with said law enforcement and military.

IF you are trying to import a rifle stock from the u.s. ... that folds, collapses or otherwise is designed to shorten the firearm..... you are breaking u.s. export law.... and that kiddies is the facts.

everyone who wants one of these mcs stocks should start emailing joe at dlask arms corp..... he's the closest... in canada.... to making these stocks here at home.

Damn, i was already visualizing my "Holy Grail" black rifle; 18.5" barrelled M14S, vortex FH, Troy MCS, Magpul UBR stock, ergo suregrip, Troy folding sights, Larue scope mount, IOR scope with .308 BDC reticule...

The Marstar stock doesn't look as nice as the Troy. OK, so I'll email Joe Dlask.

I'm so fed up with the crazy US State Dept. people. I just can't believe they're doing this to us, while our fellow canadian soldiers are fighting in Afghanistan.

They aren't doing it to you. They are doing it to all the terrorist sympathizers that the Canadian government refuses to keep out of your country for fear of offending the Quebec government (who has their own immigration policies and enforcement) and Muslim groups (who have developed the holding hostage of Western governments via interest group pressure to a fine art). Become a little less politically correct, tell the Quebecers and the muslims that terrorism and the support of terrrorism is NOT OK and the restrictions will be relaxed. I know I am preaching to the choir here, I just don't want you to take it personally.

Although this is wayyyy OT it has much more to do with the anti gun lobby in the US and internationally. Canada is a very small hole in the boat for them. Heck if I was a terrorist I would buy complete illegal weapons smuggled accross the border for the price on one stock.

Sorry, nice try though.

It's not a matter of waiting for a response..... I have had in depth discussions with Joe on the MCS type stock..... it would obviously have to be somewhat different for pattent/copyright reasons.
Joe has had his mitts on the troy design courtesy of one of our fellow CGN'ers.
His response was ... yes.... it could be done.... BUT how many could the guy expect to sell?
It would have to be worth it .... so ask yourself.... does making a dozen of these from drawing to cnc to finished product pay for themselves with some profit added in?? I'm thinkin 4 dozen or round it out to an even run of 50 stocks..... then a guy like joe might really pursue this. He has the equipment, believe me. ;)

So.... and I do not speak for the man himself... but my general understanding from the conversations I've had recently..... if enough interest comes... he will strongly consider it.
This is why i say, email Joe and tell him you want him to start making something like the troy mcs stock...... and I will continue to be a thorn in his side encouraging him to do the same hehehehe

I would be up for another one. I have to say the Troy stock is working well. I just need to get a heavy barrell shorty into it and all will be perfect. :dancingbanana:

Could he sell them in the States? I know the US has wacky EXPORT laws, but what about importing?

Lots of potential market down there.
