I decided I'll keep My Sako AV in 416 rem mag but I don't want to risk scratching up the original stock even though after putting up a post on the EE I see there lots of stocks available if something was to happen.

I need suggestions on a good synthetic stock or laminated stock, this won't be my main hunting rifle so I don't want to spend big money on a new McMillan, the suggested stock will need to put up with some lively recoil. Tips on where to find one either private or a store would be greatly appreciated.

A Bell and Carlson might do but I think a McMillan is a bargain.
Boyds might be able to help you out with a laminate, don't forget the crossbolts.

You can always hollow out the forend and butt stock to balance and add weight ie: leadshot and glassbedding............a .416 will kick
