Deciphering BLR serial number??

Browning serial numbers can be exasperating to say the least.

The reason for this is they contract out parts production, and often there will be slight differences in the parts. The serial number is needed when a part is ordered to make sure you get the right part.

It can be a very real problem.

Thanks kamlooky, I just received a reply back from Browning and they said the same thing. You would think they could have come up with an easier system to age a gun than this way. Anyway yes, 1975.
