Decision made! 375 barrel getting chopped. Front Sight Question.

Well first of all to all of you who posted on my last thread with your experiences, thank you. I decided to take an afternoon off and drove my CZ 375 down to my uncles shop and get her chopped, a few inches anyway. My next question I have for you guys is, how do you remove the front express sight? Will he have to cut it off, or is there something we are missing? I see no screws, but I did see a roll pin after removing the sight hood. He thought he could replace it with something else drilled and tapped but I thought I'd ask before he starts cutting. As always your expertise is appreciated!

I dont know how you would get your site off, but I have a 375 on order as well in the 24" variety. I thought I would try it at 24" for a while and then knock it down later as warranted. So it will be good to hear what length you go with and how you find it before and after.

Sorry Im not much help! Would like to see some before and after though.

Front sight is more than likely Silver Soldered on, anyway that was the way BRNO's were done! The problem is you will more than likely have to get a new front sight, or open up the original to fit the diametre of the new muzzle.Good luck

The barrel will need to be tuned down to accept the old front sight. The old front sight cant be opened up nearly enough as the barrel is quite a bit thicker the further you go back.

Crazy Davey there must not be much meat in the CZ front express sight, as the ones I buy from NECG sights alow to be opened up enough to fit most barrels as they need to be tapered out, thanks for the info, cheers dale Z!

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll wait and see what he comes up with. He was thinking of cutting it down and drill and tapping it, or going with a different front ramp and site. Don't know how much difference it'll make but we're going to go just down to 22". I know Davey you and a few went to 20, but I have a couple others with. 22" tubes and they handle fairly well.
I guess we'll see in a couple days.
