**Decision Made with PICS** Should I buy 70's or NEW

My 17-3 off a bag shoots so much better than I can it is ridiculous.

All of my flat main spring K frames, 17-3, 12-2 and 19-5 have good smooth DA triggers and scary good, light crisp SA trigger.

Even my coil spring J frame 34-1, though good doesn't approach the K's in terms of trigger pull.

40-50 yrs ago, may have put them all in the same hole ( maybe, sometimes?)
I find all the older ones are way smoother/ lighter than the new stuff, heavier springs , I have had a few Ruger center fire guns, while good guns, triggers where never like a smith or colt.

I use an older Mod 19 target model and it shoots better than I ever will.
I am still kicking myself for selling a 4" Colt Python that had a really smooth action.
But this 19 is tuned, and nearly as smooth.

Whenever I see beautiful snub nosed, classic revolver pictures like these posted up....I secretly hope that somewhere a SJW leftie with skinny leg pants, spontaneously starts crying for no reason, but he feels sad somehow.....

Here's hoping this causes a few more to do that too.

Those snub 19s are ###y!

Not 19s but still old school K frames. More to wet the panties of the soybois!

You guys are killing me!!! Well I don’t know about anyone else but the thought that those will be destroyed because of our gun laws makes me want to cry!! Those are all works of art! Beautiful!

If you run across a good deal on a older S&W and have the opportunity to view and verify that it has not been abused, I would go for that. I have run across quite a few good older ones in the $600-$800 territory and generally find them better finished than the newer models. The newer ones, although they are made to the same standards (abeit with few simplified manufacturing processes to reduce cost) and are just as accurate and rugged but they do feel a bit lacking in the finishing department.

If you're not in a hurry, look around, be patient and do your research. Something that tickles your fancy will pop up eventually.

Well I went with a older Model 19 pinned and recessed, I picked up off a first class CGN'er.

Finally got it home, cleaned it up, and took some pictures for everyone to enjoy.

It is a 19-4 in top condition. I thought the 3.5# trigger on 1911 was nice, its nothing compared to a old Smiths trigger in SA.

Damn, very nice!
I see I am too late...I was going to tell you to 'THINK OF THE CHILDREN', go new...and put me on to the old one you were looking at. I would have taken good care of it, and you could shoot it whenever you were in the neighbourhood. ;-)
