New to the hobby,

Looking to get a nice precision rifle for long range precision shooting but i don't want to break the bank.
Currently selling my 10/22 and want to upgrade it for...

1. Ruger precision Rifle .22lr
2. CZ 457 .22lr

Is there another affordable choice i should be researching? I'm hearing CZ all day. It's just not as pretty haha.

Opinions?

Cheers,

Most people I know that has a RPR, replaced it with an Anschutz or something else. I personally would get a 457 if those were my 2 choices. Has nothing to do with looks, they're just know for being more accurate.

CZ is the only choice between those. I’d rather have an accurate, quality rifle, than a crappy one that looks cool. The cz can be put into any number of chassis or stocks to help with ergos. I have the b14r and a cz457 in an XRS and love them both. Very accurate and reliable

I suggest a CZ 457 MTR so that you start out with the match chamber. It's a great platform on which you can progressively build up and customise to your taste as you progress.

There are a number of subscribers that could be met at local clubs or you could travel to Mission for one of our 100/200 Metre Rimfire shoots.
They are held once a month all year. Next on i September 17. A warehouse of inmformation.
There are always some deals on this site plus some of the dealers also advertise specials.
The CZ 457 is very popular. There is always someone getting out after buying a rifle and find out they are not up to the challenge.
The opinions of dealers range from where-to-go to where-not-to-go!
The amount I have spent on rifles that I did not properly test with match grade ammunition. Once I developed my own testing regimen my level of enjoyment has increased remarkably.
I always wanted an Anschutz and now the stable is filling. Only accurate rifles are interesting . . . to steal someone else's signature.
Buy 30 times and cry about performance or buy once an laugh at your previous purchases. I am laughing now!
