Hey All,

I have a decision to make and I was hoping I could get some advice from you.

I'm looking to purchase my first .45 and I've been offered a Norinco .45 base with a genuine SA slide and barrel for $360. It has been used but otherwse it is in good condition.
or
I save up the cash and buy a brand new Xd .45.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thx

I would go for the Norinco 1911 .45, and I would shell the extra bucks for an Armco tuned Norinco 1911.

Never been a fan of the large caliber plastic shooter.

If you enjoy shooting handguns then you owe it to yourself to own a single stack 1911 at some time in your life. And at $360 you won't go wrong buying this one even if it turns out that it's not done all that well and needs some more work and parts. Buy it, shoot it and if needed improve on it and if it doesn't find a home in your heart or if it lights the lust for a nicer looking 1911 then sell it and get whatever you want later.

Thanks for the imput fellas:) It's always helpful to get a second opinion.

I was leaning towards the Norinco simply because of the savings and I could use the extra cash to purchase more ammo!
