Decocker or safety?

Hi, I got a CZ P09 last autumn and it comes with parts to make it use a safety, or a decocker. (and if you know where I can get mags for it, I would be grateful!)

I currently shoot:
- a 9mm 1911, safety.
- a FNX Tactical, safety and decocker on the same lever
- a Glock and a revolver: nothing

So my thinking was to put the safety parts on. This way I can shoot using the same method on 3 pistols (1911, FNX, P09). I obviously do not carry so it's not critical either way. And I am pretty sure that any holster allowed at the range will be unloaded, no mag until I am ready to shoot anyway.

I just wonder what are the advantages - disadvantages to the decocker vs the safety.

Thanks for your ideas, Nic

I enjoy both decockers and safeties I can rest my strong hand thumb on. I'd honestly try both and see which feels better.

Congrats on the gun. Very cool.

IMHO this is a gun feature that is not important, important is what you've mostly trained with...
Personally all my life I shot & trained with DA/SA revolver or semis with hammer + decocker.

I've used a safety lever only on my 1911 gun... that is lately more like a safe queen!

You have to try both and see what's better for you, every person has different approach when coming to guns with safety or decocker.
