I use a mossberg pump with a 24" rifled barrel and it loves challenger slugs and 600gr brenneke gold mags when I use it for bear. I don't like either 2 listed so flip a coin or look into a savage bolt action slug gun

i figured benelli would be a quality bet.....i might even wait for the benelli vinci rifled slug gun...doesnt have to be benelli but i only want a semi or pump...preferably semi....open to suggestions and if needed somewhat open to 12ga...but dont see the benefit...i had an 870 slug 12ga with thumbhole stock and didnt really like it....price point isnt a huge concern if i`m getting one of...if not the best rifled slug gun (pump or semi that is)

Bit late for this thread I see... But for future reference, I really like my Steven 350 12 guage. It's an ithaca 37 clone with a steel receiver. I got one with an 18.5" barrel and it came with factory installed, solid steel rifle sights that are adjustable for windage and elevation. I can keep federal slugs inside 2" out to 70m no problem with this gun using the iron sights.

Best part is it was only $250 ish after tax so I don't mind treating it like the tool that it is. Goes everywhere and gets tossed around quite a bit this time of year ;)

go look at a ithaca deer slayer 3 . i shot one in 20g and all three slugs were in the same hole at 100 yards great gun and very well built DUTCH

sent the 20ga sx3(all black) back....forearm and buttstock are textured plastic rather than the duratouch which is phenominal on the 12ga....so i will be ordering the 12ga with the gunmetal grey perma-cote coating....handled one and it just felt right!

if truly a dedicated slug gun then look at the savage and browning bolt guns
212,220 not sure about the browning model# but thye make one. bass pro had the 220 on sale in the recent flier!!!!

The Browning is called A-Bolt but it's only available in 12GA according to the website. I've been considering both myself. The savage is a nice gun too and is available in 20GA. The Browning also comes with open sights, but at twice as much money! The Browning will cost $12-1300.00 savage is $5-700.00 depending on the model. Good luck
