Dedicated irons sight rifle which one.

No one here is against finding a reason/excuse to buy a new gun. In general we're probably closer to pushers than enablers and certainly there will be no voices of reason here. More guns = better, period.

Spot on.
That's why I love this place.
Especially the last line! 🙂

Oh believe me I have more that a couple 22lr rifles as is. The Ruger just happens to be my least used. I generally am out shooting at minimum once a week and generally speaking always bring a 22 along.

My 10/22 was assembled as my ideal Mapleseed rifle. And it was ideal In that roll. Not exactly something that I feel would work with irons. If I don’t sell the Ruger I will likely just end up getting myself a cheap Norinco ja15 or something to mess with.

I think your on the right track with the CZ.
I have a few 452lux and they are excellent
I have a very early 452 Lux with the tangent sight and the most highly figured walnut I have ever seen. With their contoured barrel, their balance, and the overall fit and finish, nothing else compares. IMO, these rifles can be described as being both fine and sleek and solid and robust at the same time. The all seem to really shoot!!!

I have too many. LOL, a Cooey 78 with original aperture and conventional rear shight; a Toz 8 that I did up with aperture sights, that 452 above, and a Zastava M22. I have a dedicated 455 in an oryx for bench, and a Nork hiker for fun and a truck gun. Likely some others in the safe also. LOL

I like projects, below is my TOZ, the target on the bottom was shot at 100 yards off of a sand bag with my 66 year old eyes, post cataract surgery. The targe is 5" x 5" and is an overlay for a standard Bulls Eye pistol target; up travel on the rear sight was almost maxed out at 100 yards. Ammo was CCI Std. It shoots.

Well decided to hang on to my Ruger (my daughter really likes it). I picked up a cheap Norinco as a project gun to mess with It will only have irons pluse give me plenty to tinker with.

Going to also do a bunch more shooting with the Henry I all ready own with it’s skinner sights (bit more $$ in ammo but I all ready have the gun here and zeroed).

Good choice, I am getting into the habit now of not letting things go as I have a son who has an interest in shooting. Also from experience Norinco’s are crude but fairly well built for money spent. It should satisfy your need to tinker and provide good accuracy too. Post some pics down the road and have fun!

Totally agree.
One of the best 22lr ever made.

I used to shoot Anschutz 190 but it had a very tight chamber. Only accepted expensive match ammo. It wasn’t exactly a plinker with cheap ammo. I sold it ultimately and got a Cz 455 Lux II with upgraded tangent sight and this cz eats anything. Love these tangent sights.

There are a few choices out there and budget will determine the outcome of which 22 LR you go with. I'll throw a vote in for a CZ LUX which is ready for hunting as well as targets. The Jaguar would be an interesting choice - for the reason mentioned earlier in this thread.
