Ok Guys n Gals, I'm looking for a dedicated big game rifle & bp gun. I presently shoot and hunt with a TC Encore SS 209x50 ml as well as the following bbl's; .270, .308 & 7mmRM.
My question to you all is,"If you were to cut back to only one of each, a centerfire & one muzzleloader, what would you pick(caliber and brand) or suggest?"
My idea is a Tikka in either .270 or 6.5x55 and get another TC but in the Triumph model.
Is this a wise choice in a bolt action? I though about the TC Icon too??

The muzzleloader is easy, a Savage stainless laminate. Caliber for the centerfire is easy too, it just about has to be a .375 if you want to do the world with one rifle. Make is a matter of personal preference.

I'm still deciding if its absolutely worth it to get rid of my Encore (complete) and settle for say a Tikka and some type of in-line?
Lets see, a stainless Encore 209x50 plus 1x 24" .308 w/sights, 26" Heavy 7mm bbl. and a 28" fluted bull .270 bbl plus the Encore wears the new Flex Tech stock (after market) and I also have the T-hole and standard butt and two std black syn rifle forearms and 1 m.l. std forearm. Extra breech plugs, Warne bases (270 & 7mm bbl), Weaver bases on .50 & .308 bbl's plus the Encore has a Bellm oversize hinge pin, Heavy Duty locking bolt spring plus a trigger & hammer spring(not installed) and finally some fireformed brass for each barrel....a good asking price for all this???????????
$1300??? There's a lot of crap there to pack in a box too......
What do you think?

Well I got rid of a couple of barrels and cut down on a bunch of the bullets I had for reloading and am going to stick to one brand (Barnes TSX). It looks like .270 is going to be the winning caliber choice.
So my dedicated rifle will be a 270 & dedicated muzzleloader will be my 209x50 TC,
