I do wonder why these had such a short life as component bullets. The most accurate bullet in both my 7x57's that I have tried (I've tried at least a dozen); nice point that doesn't get battered like an exposed lead point or fall off like some plastic tips I've seen. 4 moose 4 years in a row with them (and a couple sheep) and if I recover them they look pretty fine! The price was right too ..... This years weighed 152grn recovered, from 160.

Xreload still had some 175gr 7mm last I checked. They are the only copper plated bonded rifle bullet I know of.

There is a write-up on 24hourcampsite by John Barsness (Mule Deer) about these - apparently they are the Fusion bullets used in the Fusion line of ammunition. Marketing guys got involved in trying to put the bullets out as reloading components. Were intended to replace HotCor bullets, but came out at higher cost/price point.

I contacted Speer a few years ago regarding the availability of the TBBC as a component bullet.
While talking to the guy I also brought up the fusion ammo and the possible availability of that bullet. He told me the Fusion and Deep Curl bullets were produced the same, but the Fusion was made with a boat tail.

My 308 loves 165 grain Fusion. These things absolutely hammer Whitetail.

How are your fusion bullets holding up? My 25/06 sheds the jacket every time. Paper. Water. Sand. Mud. White tail deer. It absolutely flattened the two deer I shot but it seemed like they were varmint bullets. No exit. Just jello and a copper jacket

150gr Fusion in my .270 have been consistent performers in both my crude testing (water jug/wet pack) and on big whitetails.
I have a moose hunt booked next year and am debating between staying with these (that I trust and am familiar with), or the Federal Trophy Bonded Tipped.

30/30 170gr have been great.
165gr in a 308 win excellent as well.

Always an exit, dramatic performance.

This is the 'Fusion' bonded core bullet that Federal loads in that line of ammo. I am guessing that since the big demand on loaded rounds and the high profits from that ammo, there was no extra production allotted towards component sales.

Thanks for all the insight cgn. Guess I'm looking for the next go to 7mm hunting load. Been trying 140grn pro hunters but have yet to get them to shoot as tight as the deep curls. Also going to try 160 gun Speer boat tails, but am not sure they will perform as well on game. I would rather try heavier hotcores but haven't been able to find them.
