deer beats on bow hunter

That is a great story.
My grandfather used to tell me stories like that about people during the great depression.
Sold your last gun and the kids were starving, so what do you do?
Take a green river knife out to the woods and come back with a deer, of course!

Stories like the one above, and even farther fetched tales.

Why not?

I remember several deer seasons ago, I was out on opening day with some doe-lure and various other scents laying a "scent trail" to my stand. I would hang a felt pad in a tree and spray some of the deer pee on it.

After a while, I was in the middle of dousing another pad when I got this unexplainable feeling that I was being watched. I looked over my shoulder, and a large 8-point buck was standing not 20 yards behind me, watching intently. I unslung my rifle, snicked off the safety and shot him right there. The tracks in the snow later revealed that he had been following me for quite some time along the fenceline, and the guys in camp later bugged me about how lucky I was that I didn't bend over to tie my shoe! That, incidentally, was my shortest deer season ever - over in 20 minutes!

hey a new show idea, "JACKASS: WILDLIFE EDITION"
sounds kinda funny and immature at the same time!:dancingbanana:
although it would probably be used as fodder for the anti's:(

I watched an interview with the guy in the video. If I remember right his wife did film it and it was in their deer enclosure.

It was a total set up with him stating that he had prepared for the encounter by wearing protective gear underneath his outer cloths. They expected almost exactly what what happened.

you said it Andy...
Same as the tough guys that think they can take a dog with their bare hands.
Dreamers and creamers.... they imagine much and know very little.:(

Bah - we used to jump onto running speed goats when we were kids and wrestle them down. I would rather take a swipe from a whitetail antler than a pronghorn. Remember things are different here on the prairies, we have to get creative when we get bored.

I think it is pretty funny that you guys are afraid of a little confrontation with a whitetail.
